2010: The Year I Turn 28

I have been laying low the past week and have really enjoyed it - got a bit of time off from work, sort out a few things that I want to get done before the new year arrive and did other things that I feel I never have a chance to do. I have done the first 2 weeks of my Bikram Yoga challenge. Very excited to see this through. It's already making good changes in me. I feel much more positive! Hmm... It could just be in my head - but hey, it's what in my head that matters (at least to me!). :)

A few life lessons from 2009:
1. Think positive. Get rid of negative thinking. It's bad. Evil. It spreads around. It serves no purpose. You'll be surprised at how much this will change your day to day life.
2. Love myself. It sounds narcissistic but it is the best thing one can do for thyself. It really is. Put yourself first! Why? Because it is much easier to be kind and to love others - when we are at peace with ourselves.
3. The importance of balance. There is such thing as too much of a good thing. Seriously. The best way to make sure the good thing in life stays great, is by mixing it up a little. Take the bad with the good. Savour food. Do the chores. Meet people. Try new things. Do it all. Then, rest. Sleep well.
4. The choice is mine. Entirely mine. I'm an adult. Everything that I do - I chose to do. Even the one that I thought I didn't choose (expected off me, or my OCD issue, or my insecurity) - still need me to choose to succumb to it. Once I realised that the choice is in my hand - challenges are simpler to overcome and future looks brighter. The power of life choice is mine and yes, "with great power, comes great responsibility."

So now, here I am - in 2010. Turning 28. I've always liked the idea of being 28. :) It's not 29 (a bit too close to 30 for my liking), it's an even number, the number reflects maturity, adulthood without being old.

I have signed up for the Photography Studies College Part Time Course which will start early February. I'm really looking forward to this! It's been a while since I learn something new - appropriately and thoroughly. I'm also trying to get a bit more excited about work. I'll be applying the power of positive thinking on this matter! I'll somehow make it an enjoyable ride.

I'm actually loving where I'm at in life at the moment. The peacefulness. The balance. The people. My day to day routine. Everything about it.

Yes - I am going to make 2010 my year! :)

I really admire you for doing the Bikram challenge! There is some hot weather coming up in Melbourne so make sure you drink lots of water!

Rilsta,

Ahh... :) I'm still working through the challenge. Have definitely been piling on the water. :) Wouldn't survive otherwise.

Thank you! Hope 2010 be a great year for you too.
